Distance healing.
I like many others perform remote / distance healing treatments to those who are unable, for whatever reason, to attend in person.  Especially during the last few months during the dreaded virus. To the average person in the street this seems like a harmless, but pointless activity, for some it is the help they have been seeking and for some it is just too weird to wrap their heads around!

The healing modality that I am trained in is Reiki, however, the thing that got me into this was the healing of a cat that I performed, prior to my Reiki training.  After such a positive outcome from this experience I embarked on the mind blowing voyage of discovery that led me to Reiki and that I still travel today.  You can read all about Button the cat here.

I have performed healing (and animal communication) in 4 continents whilst never physically leaving the sanctuary of my healing room.

Now, if the main stream press is to believed, this at best makes me a delusional crank, at worst a charlatan or extremest.  I can tell you I am none of those and indeed am very much the type of person who requires proof of something before I believe it.  The results speak for themselves.

Each practitioner will approach a remote healing in a slightly different way.  This is absolutely fine there is no right or wrong only the desire to help another being for their highest good with no attachment to the outcome, is all that is required.  How one arrives at this is merely incidental, you don’t need to be initiated into Reiki to send healing to someone, but from my experience it has helped me to access the energetic connection that was always there but is all too often lost in our western cultures.

I am not a scientist and do not purport to be.  Long before I found out about Einstein’s “spooky action at a distance” or had heard of quantum physics, I knew that the distance healing I was doing was working because clients were telling me. And so I simply trusted that part of myself which is connected to the universe or, my point of reference the Divine.  I will not attempt to give you in depth theory here because there are others that do it so much better; simply google quantum entanglement or check out Dr Bruce Lipton or the work of Gregg Braden.

The fact that we are all energetically connected, often referred to as oneness or the collective consciousness means that the terms ‘distant’ and ‘remote’ are a little misleading.  How can it be distant if we actually have a connection? Think about it for a moment.  A well practised healer will be able to tap into this connection and work with someone irrespective of the miles between their physical bodies.

Let’s forget the physical body for a moment; this is merely a vehicle that our soul has chosen for the journey of the current incarnation.  When we perform any healing (again, or animal communication) we are working with the energetic bodies – we are connecting soul to soul.  As most of our physical illnesses originate from the ‘junk’ we store in our energetic bodies this is a jolly good place to work! Every self deprecating thought, every trauma, every bit of anger if left unresolved will sit in the subtle bodies and if allowed to stay there, or even worse, it is fed by further negative thinking, at some point it will manifest in the physical body.  Thus resulting in ‘dis-ease’.

Here is what someone who was sceptical, but in desperate need of help at the beginning of the Covid lockdown had to say about her experience. She was experiencing a great deal of pain, but this was at a time where she was unable to access the help of an osteopath or chiropractor and was unable to take painkillers as she was in the early stages of pregnancy.

I would not be doing my job well if I did not point out that this is not a replacement for medical treatment especially in serious conditions nor will it work for everyone as no treatment does, this is why some people who receive the same conventional medical treatment for the same illness recover and some do not, but that is the subject of a whole other blog!

When we tap into that part of the universe that is pure love there is no better feeling and that is where true healing begins and it is also why I adore what I do, because in a quiet gentle way it can make a big difference!

“There is no greater power in Heaven or on Earth than pure, unconditional love. The nature of the God force, the unseen intelligence in all things, which causes the material world and is the centre of both the spiritual and physical plane, is best described as pure, unconditional love.” Dr Wayne Dyer

You can find out a little more about Reiki here.  This is the translation of Reiki from the Reiki Sourcebook – Frans & Bronwen Stiene:

It is written with two Japanese kanji, meaning ‘spiritual energy’.  Here are some literal translations from Japanese dictionaries:  Rei, a spiritual entity believed to exist within or without our physical body. The soul. Spiritual. Sacred, divine and miraculous.  Departed spirit.  That which possesses an infinite power.  An invisible and wondrous power of the Source of it.  Reverence, sacredness, blessing.  Ki is something unseen, atmosphere, vital energy, vapour, breath.  The energy of the universe.

It is thought that the first kanji was left out of the early western translations as it was more appealing for people to be hands on healing as opposed to a spiritual practice.

Healers can use symbols, chants (kotodama) and / or draw complicated mandalas, but if we are not in the correct heart space then these will be of little use.  The longer I practice this the more I realise these practices are not about what you do, but the intention with which you do them.

All remote / distance healing treatments are done on a one to one basis by appointment and require you to be in a comfortable, quiet space for the duration.  I find this gives the best outcomes for the way I practice.
